Marble Floor Cleaning And Maintenance Tips

.

Has your Marble left you breathless? Have you tried every tactic you could to wipe away those stains from your marble floor and still not succeeded? Have giant claims of cleaning products and maintenance professionals proved futile?

If such are the kinds of difficulties you are experiencing with your marble flooring, be sure you are not alone! Every household, office or public place that makes use of this delicate stone faces numerous problems when it comes to its cleaning and maintenance. A number of people are fooled by the dainty products from the market that claim to lend a Midas touch to your marble flooring while a few others are tricked by the so-called professionals who temporarily leave your marble spotless, only to leave this soft stone trashed with acids which ensure that it withers away as soon as possible. It is therefore required that this soft stone (even softer than Granite!) should be treated with acute precision and skill. And this treatment, comes in handy in the form of the following Tips-

  • Being porous in nature, it is easily influenced by any kind of acid that it comes in contact with. This acid need not necessarily have to be a conventional acidic solution but might even be something as simple as Tomato juice or Orange Juice! The traces of acid within these substances leave stains and marks which if not wiped off immediately may turn permanent.
  • Spots left by drinking glasses or any kind of spills on the marble too should be expeditiously cleaned. Use only a soft cloth with a neutral pH cleaning solution to do this as rubbing marble with hard surfaces may ruin its smoothness and lusture.
  • Never ever use Vinegar to clean the marble floor surface or you might end up destroying it completely. For any scratches that have been caused, it is always preferable to use a neutral pH marble restorer- it would work wonders to revive the lost sheen.
  • Common household use items like nail polish removers and even water, that have a high mineral content, may prove dangerous if not properly taken care of. Keep neutral solutions handy to clear up the spill as soon as it happens
  • Marbles with their delicate exteriors are one of the best stones that lend elegance and class to every surrounding they are used in. But then, for every trace of shine that it displays, it is backed by gallons of maintenance ploys and techniques which provide for it the nutritious soil, in which the plant called Marble flourishes.
