I have a guest room in the house which is rarely occupied. How can I use it instead of it just sitting idle?

Convert it into a family room where you can spend quality time with your family indulging in activities like music, movies, indoor games and even important discussions.

Don’t you plan to have guests in the future? What you can do is create a shelf in the room for books and use it as a reading room or study. This way you can use it as a guest room too when the need be.

Make it a study room for your children where they can study without the usual distraction of their own rooms. A well defined space would get them more focused on their studies.
